BATB score: 7/10
Best for: you must have prior knowledge or have binged watched The Duggar’s “19 Kids and Counting” and/or “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” Reality Show; I kid you not this was as big as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” back in 2008-2015
Best to: a memoir from Duggar’s child number 4 out of 19 children about how Daddy Duggar took all the payouts and how fame and money breaks family
BATB lingering thought: apparently, the family made 8 million USD for 7 seasons but a 21-person cast (19 kids + mom + dad) is only 380K USD per head across ~8 years #meh
Best as: so is family one team one dream? or parent dictatorship?
Best quotes: “I never knew that victory could feel so hollow or so overwhelmingly sad.”
“By preventing us from discussing anything controversial or sensitive with each other, the instruction not to ‘stir up contention among the brethren’ became a tool for silence, for control, and for guilt.”
