BATB score: 2/10 🔪🔥
Gregg Olsen 2024 - spent 9 months trying to solve a “murder” of an Amish Wife and son; an “incident” that happened back in 1977!
Best as: why this dusty old case where not only the victims are dead, but the suspects and witnesses are also either dead or very old to remember what happened 40+ years ago - whyyyyy
Best to: 400 pages of 9 months documenting and speaking with all the suspects and witnesses; trying to jigsaw puzzle and solve the case
Best for: a year in a life of a crime scene detective
BATB lingering thought: all that 400 pages of evidence, 9 month obsession, work from crime city, pro bono I am guessing, concludes into a 7-page letter to the Sheriff to rightfully change “accident” to “homicide”; then make some money via publishing this book 👏 okay you are crazy
Best quotes: “Honest people seem to think that being fooled by someone is a mark against their own character, when really it is the opposite. Good people want to believe in good. They assume others are truthful because that’s how they live their own lives.“
“He doesn’t consider that someone could be devious and appear gentle and naïve at the same time.”
