BATB score: 10/10 💯🥺👏

my heart hurts. a sad, emotional, and heartfelt memoir for Chika - a bubbly 7-year-old battling brain tumour DIPG, the hopeful journeys of legal guardians, and the feelings left behind.

Best to: Mitch Albom is an amazing author in conveying emotions and affections in very simple writing; easily digestible by readers and, for sure, strike a chord in readers' hearts 💯💞

Best for: if you are going to read only one book this year, read this book. If you are going to read only one Mitch Albom's writings, read this book.

Best as: it's about hope, family, resilience, and time; heart-breaking yet heart-warming.

Best quotes: “I was advancing fast and wanted to keep up that pace. Ambition is not something I ever warned you about but I have learnt it can overtake you gradually, like clouds moving across the sun, until, consumed by pursuing it, you get used to a dimmer existence.” #bookstagram

"Dying is only one thing to be sad about. Living unhappily is something else."

"The most precious thing you can give someone is your time because you can never get it back. When you don't think about getting it back, you've given it in love."

"One of the best things a child can do for an adult is to draw them down, closer to the ground, for clearer reception to the voices of the earth."
