BATB score: 5/10 🎯
This book is about taking a step back and understanding your true meaning of life, whether you have committed to such ambitions or have delayed such gratification. Claiming that friends and family are important to you yet will cancel on them for ad hoc work 💯%.
Best to: the first half of the book was legit strong 💪 while the second half was a tad bit watery and wonky; yet definitely good stuff in its entirety, easily digestible and an easy read
Best for: career successful yet unhappy souls; breadwinners who saved up for retirement yet wondering what's the true purpose of life; work-life-unbalanced zombies 🧟♀️🧟♂️
Best as: it's possible to love your job and hate it at the same time; the problem start occurring when it becomes the priority over all else, when hygiene factors (money) are satisfied yet the quest remain only to make more money.
Best passage: “In order to really find happiness, you need to continue looking for opportunities that you believe are meaningful, in which you will be able to learn new things, to succeed, and be given more and more responsibility to shoulder.”
