BATB score: 6/10 🤔
a BATB re-read in memory of Baek Sehee #RIP
Best to: we don’t know why Baek Sehee passed away at 35 years old though I do hope she passed away peacefully or at the very least at peace finally
BATB lingering thought: from re-reading her book on her mental struggles - persistent depressive disorder - and her POV on free death, you have your suspicions but it doesn’t matter
Best as: if that’s really the case, according to the details of the book, I don’t think her psychiatrist / psychologist / therapist was that helpful
Best for: oh shit she really did die… I hope she had eaten enough tteokbokki ❤️🩹
Best quotes: “My desire to speak freely of my mental suffering was matched by my desire to hide myself from it all.”
“What matters isn’t what people say but what you like and find joy in. I hope you focus less on how you look to other people and more on fulfilling your true desires.”
“It’s a question of whether ‘everything you ever wanted’ was ever what you really wanted in the first place.”
“It’s impossible to fathom the sadness of those who are left behind, but if life gives one more suffering than death, shouldn’t we respect their right to end life?” #freedeath
“Is living until the end really a triumph in every case? As if there can be any true winning or losing in this game of life.”
