BATB score: 10/10 👏
*reader discretion advised* this book is a 10/10 but it is not for the faint-hearted - definitely not for everyone; it’s sick, it’s psycho, it’s gross, it’s traumatic, BUT it’s a true story
Best as: nothing that Netflix can ever make is scarier than true life itself 💀
BATB lingering thought: thank you for reminding me that this world is a scary place; people are the scariest living things
Best to: Gregg Olsen is a journalist and he writes true crimes; leveraging what he does best - interviewing people, finding the story angle, keeping people on the edge, showcasing the truth, sharing the victim’s stories 💯
Best as: Gregg Olsen published “If You Tell” in 2019 because the psychopath mother is being released from prison in 2022 - all her victims swear that she would do it again
Best for: if you like true crimes, this book is a page-turner
Best quotes: “Less of the worst was better than more.”
“There has to be a word for a person who found joy in another’s pain.”
“Sisters forever. Victims no more.”
“They prefer to keep their victims alive as long as possible, acting out their most damaging fantasies, but know that ultimately, these people must die.”
