BATB score: 10/10 🥹

words of wisdom from a 102-years-old grandma about the meaning of life, joy, and love #sobeautiful

p.s. she is still alive! now at 103-years-old living happily in Arizona; yes, I googled 👵

Best to: because being alive is not the same as truly living; truly six secrets to health and happiness at every age - crisp, clear, sincere, no further questions

Best as: a grandma’s warm embrace and reminder that all is well with you and the world ❤️‍🩹

BATB lingering thought: there are moments that this book repeats itself and goes off in a tangent, a little bit wordy and swishy-washy softy, but I guess that is how a grandma talks!

Best for: anyone who has a grandma and/or is questioning one’s sense of living - would you say you could be happier?

Best quotes: “It’s only when we know we are lovable that we become love-able. We can’t love anyone else until we believe that we ourselves can be loved.”

“In fully loving, they had fully lived.”

“Remind yourself that this doesn’t mean you are to blame; it means that you are the only one who can possible flip it around.”

“When we see that everything is a choice and each moment is an opportunity to learn, we stop holding back. We understand that life is meant to be lived, through good times and bad, right up until the very last moment.”

“A coconut drops when it’s ready to drop. […] Sometimes the coconut drops and we can’t figure out why it took so long. That’s not our business, and we aren’t served by making it our business. Life is going on, and it’s up to us to go on with it.”

“With the modern life, it’s often hard to see the value in pursuits that don’t make money or immediately solve widespread problems. It’s hard for many people to understand why they should do things just for the sake of doing them.”
