Wow. Just Wow.
An on-point manual to all the 21st-century disrupting leaders. The book challenges top companies' best practices in acquiring, managing, and firing talents. Even Facebook and Google (the best companies to work for) got a decent slap-in-the-face KO.
The content below may be depressing to those ocean eyes naive hopeful souls. For example:
- Firing people (even the best talents and managers) who have become irrelevant to the company's north stars is recommended. We're not family; we're a sports team #Pochettino #Mourinho.
- Work tenure means shit. Don't retain just because.
- Annual Performance Review is a lie.
- Performance Improvement Program is a waste of time for both the PIP-ee and the PIP-er company.
- Hire better. Hire the best talents and they will empower themselves. Dare to pay what they deserve.
Best for: future / young blood leaders who are and who will be shaping our tomorrows. Listen. Think about all your past managers. Thank them for all that they have taught you. Read this book. Then knock them down! #moveplease
The funny thing is even if today's leader read this book, they would be too conservative, too arrogant, too afraid to do anything differently. Let's hope they retire soon
