BATB score: 7/10 🩵

Best as: this book is borderline a scam as it is merely a collection of selected chapters from Dale Carnegie’s two other best sellers “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”

Best to: however, it is a good refresher if you have read the other two best sellers a while back OR a good introduction to Dale Carnegie if you haven’t read anything Dale Carnegie

Best for: an extremely instagramable and quotable book

BATB lingering thought: amazing how everything Dale Carnegie has written back in 1936 and 1948 is still valid today 2024 #epicmax

Best quotes: “Men do not die from overwork. They die from dissipation and worry.”

“The tendency to seldom think of what we have but always of what we lack is the greatest tragedy on earth.”

“There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.”

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you’ll be criticized, anyways. You’ll be damned if you do and damned if you don’t.”

“Many people who go insane find insanity a feeling of importance that they were unable to achieve in the world of reality.”

“I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm among my people the greatest asset I possess, and the way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement.”

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming genuinely interested in other people than you are in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

“I have no right to say or do anything that diminishes a man in his own eyes. What matters is not what I think of him, but what he thinks of himself. Hurting a man in his dignity is a crime.”
